Immigration Appointments
Overview
HUFS Visa Agency
We partner with a visa agency that will visit HUFS campus where you can submit your ARC application. This service however, costs a fee of 20,000 KRW (plus the 30,000 KRW application fee). They come to campus two to three times during September/March. This is both convenient for students, as well as for the Immigration Office since there are THOUSANDS of students arriving all at the same time. You can, of course, also visit the Immigration Office independently - it is relatively simple to do. See directions below.
1. Applying for your ARC
Making an Appointment at HiKorea
If you try to make an appointment using your phone/tablet, the website will require you to enter a phone number. This will NOT happen on a desktop. You can enter any phone number such as 010-1234-5678.
a. Reserve a Visit
Visit hikorea.go.kr and click on the Reserve Visit button.
If you do not have an account with HiKorea, you can make a reservation as a non-member using both an ARC number or your passport number. If you have newly arrived to Korea, you will need to use your passport number.
b. Non-Member Reservation
You can choose between inputting your ARC information or your passport information. Your birth date should be written as YYYYMMDD.
If you are submitting your application for an ARC, you will need to use your passport number!
c. Identify with Passport
Click on the tab that says "Identification with a passport No.".
Fill our the fields for your:
Passport Number
Nationality
Date of Birth
When you are finished, click the "confirm" button at the bottom.
d. Reservation Details
Fill out the details of your reservation. As a HUFS student, you can use Sejongno Immigration Branch Office.

Click "Foreigner Residence Control" for Booth Category
Choose the date of your visit. These can be full for weeks in advance so please plan accordingly.
You can write the purpose of your visit as "ARC Registration"
Enter a 4 digit password (e.g., 1234) in case you need to edit the date of your appointment, or cancel it all together.
When you are finished, click "Apply".
When you are done, you will get a receipt of your reservation. Print this form out and bring it with you to your appointment.
Arrive at the immigration office at least 10 minutes before your appointment time, as sometimes they call your number early (you will be shown your number after making your reservation— remember it!).
2A. Sejongno Immigration Office

In order to apply for your ARC, you will need to bring the following items. Some of them you already have such as your passport. However, other documents you will need to get from our office. You can also call Immigration's Support Hotline - 1345 - from any phone in Korea. From outside of Korea, it is +82 1345.
2B. Suwon Immigration Office
Global Campus Students
The Suwon Immigration Office (which services HUFS students at Global Campus) is located at Yeongtong (영통) Station on the Suwon-Incheon Line. It is located about 10 minutes away from the station. Please use exit 6 and follow the map.
3. Required Documents
a. Certificate of Current Enrollment
You can pick this document up at the Office of International Admissions and Management when you show us proof that you have reserved an appointment at the Immigration Office.
b. Confirmation of Residence
We will give this to HUFS dorm residents. If you plan to arrange or have arranged your own housing, you will also need to bring your housing contract and a copy of your landlord's ID.
c. ARC Application Form
You can also download a copy from the Immigration Office's website, or pick up a copy in our office, or get one at the Immigration Office itself. (Download a copy)
d. Passport Information Page
Make sure your passport photo copy is clear and easy to read. Bring with your passport as well, just in case you need it.
e. Confirmation of Visa Issuance
Similar to your passport information page, make sure the photocopy is clear and easy to see. Bring with your passport just in case.
f. 3.5X4.5 ID Card Photo
This is a standard passport photo that meets international standards.
g. Reservation Receipt
Your reservation receipt from hikorea.go.kr
h. ARC application Fee
The application fee is 30,000 KRW or about 30 USD.
4. Fingerprint Scanning
During your appointment, you will also be given a receipt to have your fingerprints scanned.
You will need to re-visit the Immigration Office on that date with your receipt and passport. Since this date is determined for you from your first appointment, there you do not need to make another reservation.
